Japanese Teacher
Location: Stoke d’Abernon
Salary: £45 per hour

The School, a specialist music school based in Stoke d’Abernon, Cobham.
The Role
They are seeking to appoint a part-time self-employed Japanese Teacher to teach their pupils both at GCSE and A Level. Applicants must be a native level speaker or near native level speaker of Japanese and have experience teaching Japanese to different levels of bilingual pupils.
You will be required to teach 3 hours per week (ideally Monday 9.30am until 12.45pm.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning:
* To prepare and deliver outstanding Japanese lessons to individuals or small groups of bilingual pupils.
* To prepare pupils for A Level and/or GCSE Japanese exams.
* To instil a love of learning and a passion for languages and communication.
* To assess pupils’ progress and mark work diligently and promptly.
* To provide excellent teaching and learning resources.
* To write end-of-term reports, enter half-termly effort and attainment grades, and set exams as required.
* To liaise with the Head of MFL about all matters relating to the position of Japanese teacher.
Safeguarding:
* To ensure pupils are safe from harm, abuse and neglect.
* To log any concerns on the school’s CPOMS pastoral reporting system.
* To uphold the school’s ethos of safeguarding and child protection.
* To maintain professional, caring and positive relationships with pupils.
* To attend safeguarding training as required by the school.
General:
* To display exemplary professionalism at all times.
* To attend staff meetings, INSET and parent consultations as required.
* To uphold the school’s values and ethics and abide by the staff code of conduct.
* To perform other duties, as reasonably requested by the Head.
Skills and Qualifications
* You must be a native level speaker or near native level speaker of Japanese
* Have experience teaching Japanese to different levels of bilingual pupils
