Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Access Officer for a Local Authority Client based in East London.
In this role, you will secure and allocate temporary accommodation, provide expert advice to applicants, and ensure efficient tenancy management to support the Council's mission to prevent homelessness and deliver cost-effective housing solutions.
About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:
* Procure Nightly Paid accommodation to prevent homelessness, allocate properties swiftly, and minimise void turnaround times.
* Set up tenancies and accounts, ensuring compliance with policies and maximising rental income.
* Offer tailored guidance to applicants, managing housing expectations and supporting their needs effectively.
* Maintain efficient processes, ensure policy compliance, and contribute to the smooth operation of the Nightly Paid Accommodation Team.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience in housing procurement, allocation, or management, particularly in temporary or emergency accommodation.
* Experience managing tenancy setups, maintaining accurate records, and handling financial processes related to rent accounts.
* Experience in resolving housing-related issues effectively and proactively.
* Proven ability to negotiate cost-effective agreements with accommodation providers.
What's on offer:
Salary: £18+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
