As a ReliabilityMaintenance Engineering (RME) Area Manager, you’ll bring together the elementsthat make our working environment as supportive and efficient as possible.Your focus will be to lead and mentor a team of expert technicians dedicatedto equipment reliability. Key job responsibilities Support colleagues in site compliance with safety policies and procedures Implement EU network standards, plan preventative maintenance and ensuretechnical availability Collaborate with colleagues to collect and analyse data to improve processes Deliver and support both site-based and network-level projects Lead, support and mentor your team to develop their career A day in the life You’ll be based at one of our operational sites, which allows you to givepractical guidance to your team and get a clear vision of what’s happening atyour site. This involves collecting data and solving problems in a fast-pacedenvironment. You’ll also have a chance to create an operational plan to makethe site more productive and efficient. That will involve setting up newprojects that improve everything from operational processes to equipmentmaintenance. After safety, the most important part of the role is leading yourteam and managing their performance and development, including organisingadditional training. About the team Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipmentperforming at its best. Were a technically minded team, made up of excellentteam players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain,troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilmentcentres. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work onexciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the generalmaintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our teamhandles most aspects of Amazon’s technical side. This includes keepingbuildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operatingat maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, bothwithin the RME team and more widely across Amazon. Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon’s crucial operationssites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early orlate hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and theopportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edgetech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter. ### BASIC QUALIFICATIONSA UK Higher National Diploma (HND), Higher National Certificate (HNC), BTECNational Diploma (OND), Ieng, CEng or ILM L4+ Relevant experience as part of a maintenance team in an industrial orproduction environment that handles a variety of complex business processes Relevant experience in managing people in an engineering team Relevant experience in liaising and managing relationships between a varietyof stakeholders including third-party vendors Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English and upper intermediateproficiency in local language ### PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred qualifications are not required to apply for a position at Amazon.If you have all the basic qualifications above, we’d love to hear from you.
