We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Construction Manager to join our dynamic Severn Bridges Inspection and Maintenance (SBIM) team in Bristol. In this role, you will lead on planning, management and overseeing of maintenance activities in relation to works undertaken by Amey. You will also assist in the development, procurement and delivery of renewals work procured via competitive tenders. What You’ll Do: Deliver maintenance and renewals works project to meet client’s schedule and budget Requisitioning materials, plant, and contractors Organising resources, contractors, gantry maintenance, statutory examinations, traffic management, and overtime Attending and liaising in meetings with internal teams, contractors, and clients Supervising three structures and overseeing site works, including site visits Managing contractor and client site visits, monthly inspections, visitor escorts, and security issues Ensuring compliance with CDM requirements and managing safe systems of work by issuing permits, conducting safety briefings and inductions, delivering tool box talks and safety alerts, producing task sheets and risk assessments, and reviewing contractor documentation Ensuring COSHH assessments are in place and briefed to relevant personnel Briefing gantry drivers and personnel, and conducting daily awareness briefings Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including raising close calls, taking on BUIC role, and conducting accident/incident investigations. Ensure depot compliance checks are completed timely. Adhere to quality (ISO 9001) standards by ensuring employee quality induction, uploading contract information to SBIM SharePoint, following contract processes, participating in audits, and engaging in root cause analysis. Participate in contract emergency on-call rota. Oversee work measurement and valuation, including task order quotes, capturing resource utilisation, providing input for work estimates, completing PowerApps approvals, raising Early Warnings, reviewing design options, and providing feedback. Ensure environmental compliance through monthly inspections and waste management. Manage staff by handling absence management, recruitment, performance reviews, training, and liaising with HR/Croner team. Perform any other duties as required by line management. Why Join Us?
