We operate on a national basis with offices in Birmingham, Brighton, and Leicester. We are growing our existing team based at our headquarters in Leicestershire.
We are seeking a Flood Risk Engineer at all levels to become an integral part of our Flood Risk team situated at either of our Leicester and Birmingham offices. We work predominantly for housing developers across the Midlands and have significant front orders, requiring an Engineer to assist with the growing team and workload.

Job Requirements
Key Role Responsibilities:
* Assist the team to meet the productivity and growth aspirations of the company by managing numerous residential, commercial, and public sector related projects.
* Liaise and cooperate with team members, senior staff, and colleagues in other disciplines.
* Produce outputs including reports, design models, drawings, calculations, and correspondence.
* Write Flood Risk Assessment reports for strategic development schemes in Flood Zones 1, 2, & 3.
* Develop surface water drainage strategy designs for proposed development sites, incorporating sustainable drainage techniques.
* Conduct river/flood modelling to define the extent and depths of flooding and to determine mitigation/improvement schemes.
* Assist with project management to company standards, including administration, client liaison, quality, fee proposals, budgeting, resource management, team briefing, and invoicing.
* Engage in public consultation events and meetings with clients, team, and other disciplines.
* Submit designs for third-party approvals while ensuring proactive communication with clients, authorities, and other agencies.
* Work within all offices as required and work additional hours if necessary to deliver all responsibilities.
Key Skills, Experience, and Attributes Required:
* Active involvement in undertaking flood risk assessments, including site data capture and processing.
* Maintain and develop department standards, systems, and procedures.
* Research and develop technological innovations to aid continual growth and diversity.
* Provide supervision, guidance, and advice to new team members and ensure continued professional development.
* Conduct junior staff 1-2-1s and performance reviews.
* Prepare business plans in accordance with company financial projection targets.
* Engage in business development and networking, maintaining and growing client relationships.
* Comply with Designer’s responsibilities under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
* Communicate regularly both internally and externally, obtaining feedback on performance from clients.
* Ensure the team liaises fully with clients, other staff members, and statutory bodies.
* Prepare and review calculations, technical documents, reports, and correspondence to ensure quality and accuracy.
* Conduct site visits for inspections or investigations and attend meetings with clients and suppliers.
* Follow a continued professional development/programme of training and achieve a minimum of 12 days CPD per year.
* Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.
* Educated to a minimum standard of Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject.
* Relevant experience, including design, management, and knowledge of flood risk/hydrology standards.
* Hold or work towards a recognized professional qualification.
* Knowledge of current legislation, drainage design standards, and good practice.
* Proficient in the use of Micro Drainage and flood modelling software packages.
* Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
* Excellent written skills, particularly in report writing and client liaison.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Self-motivated individual with a desire to contribute to the company's growth.
* Hold a full clean driving license and have a private car with business insurance.
