Registered Manager (Children’s Residential Home)

Home Size: 5-bed residential unit
We’re seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a welcoming, Ofsted-rated "Good" home for children and young people in Dewsbury. This home has an excellent reputation with local authorities and provides specialized care for children with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and associated behaviors. Some of the young people are non-verbal or have limited communication, using methods like picture boards, Smartbox devices, and Makaton to interact.

Key Responsibilities
Develop Individualized Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a plan tailored to their care, education, social, and emotional needs.
Build a Strong Team: Lead recruitment, oversee inductions, and foster a stable, high-quality team for the benefit of the young people.
Foster a Consultative Environment: Establish systems that encourage young people to share feedback on their care.
Assign Key Workers: Ensure each child has a dedicated Key Worker to implement and review their care plan.
Ensure Quality and Compliance: Uphold high standards of care and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality guidelines.
Manage Concerns and Complaints: Responsibly address any complaints or protection issues as they arise.
Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with families, carers, and external professionals.
Promote Safety: Create a safe, nurturing environment where young people receive the highest quality care.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in residential childcare, including a year in a supervisory role within the last five years.
A Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is required. A Level 5 in Leadership and Management is preferred; otherwise, enrollment within six months of starting is necessary.
Familiarity with Quality Standards, SCCIF, relevant childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Strong in planning, organizing, budgeting, resource allocation, and team leadership.
Effective written and spoken communication skills.
Experience with children who have behavioral, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviors.
Full UK driving license required.
