There are schools around Hatfield that are looking for caring and enthusiastic Reception Year Teaching Assistants to join their Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners at the start of their educational journey, helping them develop confidence, independence, and a love for learning. This role begins ASAP in March 2025.
Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
* Work with small groups and individual children to provide targeted support and encouragement.
* Assist in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
* Support children’s social, emotional, and personal development, encouraging positive relationships and behaviour.
* Help with classroom organisation, preparing resources, and maintaining a stimulating learning space.
* Observe and record children’s progress, providing feedback to the teacher to support assessment and planning.
* Assist with personal care tasks, such as toileting, dressing, and snack times, ensuring children’s well-being.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and other staff to support children's learning and development.
* Support children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) where required.
* Contribute to school life, including meetings, training, and school events.
Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
* Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Have experience working with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) children.
* Be passionate about child development and early learning.
* Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with young children.
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Be proactive and adaptable, ready to support children’s needs as they arise.
* (Desirable) Have experience supporting children with SEND.
