Early Years Manager – Maternity Cover for up to 10 months
36.25 hours per week

First Step is a community based, locally managed project in Musselburgh. Our aim is to provide opportunities for families with young children to make positive choices and to encourage parents and children to develop their skills, confidence and self-esteem. We provide a range of services for families with children under 8, including early learning & childcare, a family support service and a varied programme of groups and classes.
Covering maternity leave, to start early December 2024 we are looking for an experienced, dedicated and highly motivated individual to work in partnership with our Project Manager to oversee the smooth running of our Early Years’ Service.
The post holder will lead an experienced nursery team in delivering the best possible early learning and childcare for children and families in the local community. The successful candidate will need to support the vision, mission and values of First Step Community Project, having previous experience of working within a voluntary or committee run organisation is advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of Early Years frameworks, legislation and guidance is essential, as well as experience of evaluating and developing a service. You must be prepared and eligible to register as Manager with SSSC and be able to demonstrate past supervisory or management experience for this post.
