Our client is a global end-to-end service provider for pension and fiduciary management services. They are looking for a Risk Manager to join the expanding team.
ROLE PURPOSE:
* Assisting the Head of Risk & Compliance in implementing the risk management aspects of R&C’s enhanced Target Operating Model.
* Supporting the business in fostering a proactive and open risk culture
* Contributing to the further definition and integration of the three lines of defence risk assurance model across the business.
* Providing timely advice, support, and assurance to the company advance its approach to effective risk management across all business functions.
* Serving as a recognized expert and point of reference for the business on risk management, including legal and regulatory requirements and market best practices.
* Collaborating closely with the Risk & Compliance Team to deliver an integrated risk function across the entire Scheme
KEY OBJECTIVES:
* Supporting the design, management, implementation, and ongoing development of a robust and proportionate second-line Risk Management Framework (RMF) for the business, including:
* Assisting the business in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Risk Universe.
* Developing and embedding a suitable Risk Appetite and associated tolerance levels.
* Overseeing and regularly reporting on the business’s Risk Registers.
* Providing advice and support to relevant business functions on their Risk & Control Self-Assessments, ensuring the first-line control environment remains robust and fit for purpose.
* Maintaining and enhancing an effective error and breach (E&B) framework.
* Acting as a proactive and effective risk partner to the business, offering independent oversight and challenge to first-line risk owners’ processes, systems, and controls.
* Collaborating with the Portfolio and Performance Risk Team on implementing second-line investment risk management activities.
* Supporting the business in proactively proposing and conducting regular risk-based assessments and scenario planning exercises to test the adequacy of the RMF and the business’s resilience to current and emerging risks.
* Managing the R&C Team’s due diligence activities concerning external third parties, including external managers, trading counterparties, investment vehicles, and service providers.
* Assessing and reporting on risk management in relation to proposed projects and business change activities, and participating in any associated working groups.
* Providing risk management training and education to increase awareness and understanding of risk across the business.
* Ensuring the effective and timely implementation of any control or RMF enhancements identified through the R&C Team’s activities or internal/external audits.
