Job Summary: Working as part of a strong international team, our Lead Project Reserving Actuary will represent the Actuarial Reserving team on a wide range of business projects. Key Responsibilities Technical Lead projects undertaken by the Actuarial Reserving team Contribute to group-wide projects, representing the Actuarial Reserving team Manage the relationship between Beazley and our auditors and external actuaries, including understanding/challenging analysis Perform the calculation of specific group reinsurance covers Lead the construction of the loss development triangles for the report and accounts Lead the Performance Related Pay (PRP) analysis Build and maintain constructive working arrangements with those groups identified as being key to your role Operate as an effective team member by supporting colleagues and contributing to the delivery and achievement of overall team and business objectives. Provide support and mentoring to the assistant reserving actuaries, with potential for direct line management responsibilities. Peer review colleagues' work to provide quality assurance Become a technical expert and trusted advisor for management on reserving and related matters Contribute to the maintenance of documentation with the required frequency, adhering to the review requirements and obtaining the appropriate sign-offs Keep abreast of industry best practice, new initiatives and changes in regulatory requirements Identify opportunities and deliver improvements in the valuation processes and methodologies Undertake applicable professional, technical and career development training (delivered internally and externally) General At Beazley we are committed to doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do.
