Laboratory Technician – Biochemistry | Hawke's Bay Hospital | Full-Time (1.0FTE) | Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Biochemistry team at Hawke’s Bay Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to essential diagnostic services in a supportive and professional environment.

About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician in the Biochemistry department, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing and processing laboratory samples for diagnostic testing.
2. Performing routine laboratory procedures and maintaining high-quality standards.
3. Ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
4. Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
5. Working collaboratively with laboratory scientists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Biochemistry team plays a crucial role within the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Laboratory, providing timely and accurate diagnostic services to support clinical decision-making. You will be part of a skilled and friendly team committed to delivering excellence in laboratory science.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will:
1. Hold a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Technology.
2. Be registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand.
3. Have experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in Biochemistry.
4. Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Be committed to maintaining high-quality standards and ongoing professional development.
