Production Supervisor - Artigarvan Lakeland Dairies Co-operative Society Limited (The Group) is the second largest dairy processor on the island of Ireland. The Groups Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state-of-the-art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland. Applications are invited for the above position at our Artigarvan site. The Role: As part of our site Production Management Team, the successful applicant will assist our Production Manager in the daily supervision and efficient running of the Intake & Processing/ Drying / Bagging & Dispatch/ Engineering / QA Departments to deliver high quality consumer products and achieve agreed KPIs/standards in Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Delivery and Cost. Key responsibilities will include (not limited too): Assist the site Management Team in fulfilment of our production plan in-line with Milk Intake & Powder Production requirements. Plan, prioritise and delegate work to the best interest of the business and the customer, maximising efficiency and minimising costs, coordinating all necessary resources (staff, raw materials, equipment) as required. Deliver effective communication and on-the-floor presence through area tours, engaging staff and overseeing production. Supervise implementation of standard work, quality control and food safety procedures within the department, ensuring product traceability, legislative compliance and customer satisfaction. Assist the Management Team in regularly reviewing and analysing performance, KPIs, methods of work, systems and resources, actively identifying and driving continuous improvement activities in the department to reduce costs, rework and waste. Identify, analyse and implement immediate corrective actions to address any non-conformances in accordance with company procedure, coordinating staff training and remedial works as required Ensure all relevant procedures, forms and production paperwork is up to date and available for staff to complete, monitor and verify accurate completion, sign off and compliance with required standards. Participate in HACCP teams or other quality/performance improvement initiatives as required to guarantee high-quality products and best practice. The Person: Our team are seeking an individual who possesses: A third level qualification in a Food Management/Quality or Production Management field, OR Secondary level education to include GCSE Mathematics and English and have a minimum of 3 years Production Supervisory experience within food manufacturing. The ability to work on their own Initiative defining, planning and managing their workload Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy of information and process Excellent communication skills to support the delivery of an effective production operation. Experience and working knowledge of Quality systems (ISO, HACCP), Dairy Production/Manufacturing and/or reviewing and analysing production data, identifying issues, concerns and improvements would be advantageous.
