SEND Keyworker
Location: Havant, Hampshire
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Contract Type: Permanent / Long Term, Full Time / Part Time
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and challenging behaviour?
Do you have experience in a care or youth work setting and are looking to transfer your skills into an educational environment?
If so, GSL Education are seeking a resilient and calm SEND Keyworker to join a secondary school in Havant, Hampshire.
In this role, you will work closely with students to provide tailored support, ensuring their needs are met while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. You will support their emotional, social, and academic development, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
SEND Keyworker Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN and challenging behaviour.
* Assist students in managing their behaviour and emotions to ensure a positive learning environment.
* Liaise with the SENCo and other staff members to develop and implement tailored support plans.
* Support students in accessing the curriculum and maintaining engagement in lessons.
* Monitor and record student progress and behaviour, reporting to the SENCo and other staff.
* Build strong, supportive relationships with students, promoting their personal development.
* Assist with the creation and delivery of tailored interventions to meet individual needs.
* Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements for SEND Keyworker:
* Previous experience working with students with SEN or challenging behaviour is essential.
* Experience from the care sector or as a youth worker will be considered if you have transferable skills.
* Strong understanding of SEN, behaviour management strategies, and supporting students with diverse needs.
* Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
