At Change Grow Live, we work towards ensuring our services are warm and welcoming environments. We also strive to be accessible to communities throughout the county, these include villages and rural communities which are more remotely located from our fixed office-based facilities. Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers, and make a real difference? We are looking to recruit Volunteer drivers for our Mobile Harm Reduction Clinic. Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live. The vehicle operates out of our base at Mansfield at present. The driver role is to operate our professionally converted mobile clinic vehicle to and from venues. This includes planning the logistics for safe parking and access to service user visitors, and staff. Checking that the vehicle is fit for use on the road, and arranging for, or reporting defects, tyre replacements etc. You will need to pre plan and on occasion negotiate with appropriate staff who own or control the land we propose operating from. For example, for premises access purposes and to park appropriately on level ground. From the mobile clinic, we encourage and promote treatment options within the service, as well as signposting and referral to other appropriate support services. You may wish to progress towards incorporating such work into your role, it is an option. This role is likely to evolve in accordance with your personal development aims and the support of your nominated supervisor and Volunteer Coordinator. Although the vehicle is group B for licensing purposes, it would be an advantage if you have experience of driving and manoeuvring vehicles considerably larger than saloon sized cars. You will be a health and safety conscious person, and a considerate road user. Please refer to the Role Description for full details and requirements. There is some degree of trial and error in locating the vehicle at various venues and its deployment would be influenced by your availability. To date we have found this to be a half day commitment on each occasion. We reimburse expenses incurred as a result of volunteering. 14/3/2025 John Haskew | john.haskewcgl.org.uk Please note that we require you to be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this volunteering role.
