Responsible Welding Coordinator role at a leading manufacturer in Bolton, controlling welding inspection activities and ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Manage welding procedure qualification records (WPQRS) for materials.
* Review metallurgy and conduct trial tests for unqualified materials.
* Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
* Coordinate Quality Control (QC) activities.
* Ensure personnel are qualified in line with welding regulations.
* Address complex non-conformances, such as cracks in welds.
* Investigate and rectify complex non-conformances with NDT and Production Manager.
* Maintain welding qualification records.
* Sign off Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
* Review new projects for materials, weld position, and type.
* Attend Technical Reviews.
* Complete paperwork for Traceability and special customer requirements.
Required qualifications include HNC level technical or quality qualification, RWC qualification, and welding experience/inspection qualification. Ideal candidate comes from a quality background with knowledge of Quality Systems and Standards, and has a technical or engineering background with knowledge of welding/fabrication/metals.
