Job Description
WHAT WILL KEEP YOU BUSY:
9. Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items as directed by the Manager
10. Contribute to the development and planning of menus, including future food trends and be passionate about developing new styles of service and concepts in the location.
11. Support Manager with stock taking when required.
12. Carry out the smooth and efficient running of your section as appropriate.
13. To run and supervise any kitchen section to the required standards set by the Head Chef
14. To ensure all preparation of the designated section is complete and ready for each service
15. Ensure good stock and waste control is practised
16. Be responsible for the quality control of stock and prepared foods
17. Execute cooking to the expected high standard quickly and efficiently
18. Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of designated section
19. Support head (sous) chef in delivering required standard of food
20. Appropriately delegate jobs to junior chefs and apprentices and support them in their development
21. Maintain a positive and proactive attitude at all times and seek to improve and advance your skill set and performance
22. Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef and management
23. Seek to ensure that all hotel guests and non-residents enjoy the best experience possible
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
24. Leaving Cert level education or above
25. NVQ qualification or equivalent
26. Successful progressive background in catering
27. Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service
28. Flair and innovative with menus and food presentation
29. Good listening skills
Work Experience
30. Self-motivation and a passion for hospitality and cooking
31. Effective time management of busy kitchen section
32. High standard of food preparation
33. Attention to detail
34. At least 6 month’s experience in a chef de partie role
