Finance Officer
A government funded organisation that provides top quality housing and support to tenants across Northern Ireland are seeking a Finance Officer to join their dynamic team. In this role you will manage the rent ledger and oversee rent arrears within the Finance Department. You will also support the Head of Finance and the Head of Homes and Communities by producing and reporting on the department's rent control activities.
Finance Officer Responsibilities
* Handle financial transactions for the rent ledger, including weekly rental charges and tenant payments, as well as payments from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
* Manage the allocation of housing-related benefits within tenant rent accounts.
* Coordinate with tenants and Northern Ireland Housing Executive departments regarding payments and rental income.
* Administer tenant payment facilities, such as setting up direct debits and issuing payment cards.
* Issue annual rent statements to tenants.
* Provide Housing Officers with information on tenant rent accounts, arrears, and recovery processes.
* Assist the Housing team in recovering rent arrears.
* Act as the primary contact for tenants with rent arrears.
* Contact tenants and send arrears correspondence in accordance with the Association's Rent Management and Arrears Policy.
Finance Officer Requirements
* 3 years experience in a finance department working in a similar role.
* IT literacy, with demonstrable proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
* Credit Control experience.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* IATI/AAT level qualification is advantageous.
