Job Description
Our Client is a corporately owned practice looking to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Runcorn, Cheshire on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP Vet with a passion for both medicine and surgery, and the option to mentor graduates through the Vet GDP advisor role.
Working Hours / Rota
This part-time role covers approximately 29 hours per week, worked over a maximum of three days. The rota includes a 1:4 Saturday schedule, averaged into the weekly hours, along with a 1:12 Sunday and 1–2 bank holidays annually. TOIL is provided for Sunday and bank holiday work.
Role Description
The successful candidate will handle both consultations and surgical procedures. There is an opportunity to support the next generation of vets as a Vet GDP advisor. The role suits a proactive and collaborative individual who takes pride in delivering a high standard of care and enjoys working as part of a tight-knit team.
Team Size
This practice operates with a team of 5 experienced staff who work closely together to deliver exceptional patient and client care.
Practice Details
The practice has been embedded in the local community for over a decade and regularly engages in local initiatives, including school visits, charity events, and dog shows. It has recently modernised its consult and treatment areas and is equipped with a new ultrasound scanner, along with access to facilities at a Tier 3 RCVS-accredited hospital.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with well-rounded experience in general practice. They should be confident across both medical and surgical cases and show enthusiasm for mentoring. A positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to high clinical standards are essential.
