Lead multidisciplinary reviews monthly of young people in residential care at Care in Mind residential homes; act as Responsible Clinician in accordance with MHA (amended 2007) and utilise Care Programme Approach. This includes medication management, risk assessment and review, MHA and Mental Capacity assessments, and maintaining an overview of progress across all domains.
Fully Registered Medical Practitioner
Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
Approval under Sec 12 MHA 1983/current Approved Clinician Status

Care in Mind provides residential services for young people aged 16-30, often requiring high levels of support for issues like self-harming, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our goal is to support young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their goals and transition to adult life.
Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist interested in working within a dynamic, reflective MDT, supporting young people's physical and psychological wellbeing? Do you want to do things differently when caring for your patients? We seek a thoughtful, research-oriented individual who can manage medication, physical health, and risk within a formulation-based MDT.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Lead Consultant managing a caseload of 40-55 young people aged 16-30. Provide leadership in clinical care and risk management, and offer psychopharmacological management where needed. Opportunities exist for research and service development in this innovative environment.
The role requires a CCT (CAMHS/GA/Medical Psychotherapy/Forensic) or equivalent, with endorsement/experience in Eating Disorders or Liaison being desirable. GMC registration and revalidation are mandatory.

Training will be held over 6 days at our Head Office in Stockport, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. We do not accept CVs; applications must be completed in full.
