About the Role
Ellwood Atfield is working with a leading health and care regulator to appoint an experienced and strategic External Affairs Manager to drive forward the organisation’s stakeholder engagement strategy and build strong relationships within the health and care sector across the UK, with a focus on Devolved Nations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a strategic engagement programme to strengthen relationships with political and health sector stakeholders in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
* Act as a strategic advisor to Country Directors.
* Provide expert engagement advice and high-quality briefing materials to senior colleagues.
* Lead and develop a high-performing external affairs team, ensuring best practices in stakeholder engagement.
* Oversee stakeholder mapping, record-keeping, and reporting to measure and evaluate engagement effectiveness.
* Represent the regulator at external meetings and events to gather insights and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
* Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement or public affairs, with a proven track record of influencing and relationship management.
* Strong knowledge of the UK political landscape, including devolved assemblies and regional governance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy details to diverse audiences.
* A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Leadership experience, with a focus on team development and delivering high-quality engagement strategies.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience engaging stakeholders in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland.
* Line management experience (this role will manage three direct reports).
