The Role In 2023, we opened our sleek Peterlee office to house our expanding team in style. This modern space features high-tech meeting areas, a café, and plenty of social spaces (think arcade games, table tennis, and pool tables). As Collections Team Leader, reporting to the Collections Manager, you will be instrumental in optimising performance, and collections effectiveness within our Collections contact centre. What You’ll Do Be a champion of the business’s core values, ensuring they’re always promoted and upheld. Work closely with different teams both within the department and across the company to create a seamless, top-notch Customer Experience. Lead and inspire a team of skilled agents, maximizing collections and driving success throughout the debt recovery process. Regularly assess team performance and activities, using data to spot areas for improvement and keep raising the bar. Team up with the Collections Manager to host 1-on-1s and other engagement meetings to keep the team connected and motivated. Lead new hire training and provide ongoing opportunities for upskilling. Be the “go-to” for complex issues, offering guidance on any escalated complaints or queries. Develop creative strategies to boost team performance and streamline efficiency. Ensure that quality standards are clearly communicated, embraced, and consistently met. Balance workloads and manage multiple activity streams while maintaining best practices. Oversee weekly call monitoring for each team member, providing clear, constructive feedback for continuous growth. What You’ll Bring… A keen intellect and big personality. Experience in a debt collection environment is helpful but not a “must have.” A proven track record of coaching, developing, and inspiring teams with strong leadership skills and a passion for success. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships and keep things moving smoothly.
