We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Project Cargo Administrator Apprentice to join our commercial team at Stanford-Le-Hope. This role's responsibilities include assisting a fast-paced Project Cargo Team in providing great customer service, with a focus on providing operational and quotation information to internal and external stakeholders, while also offering strong and reliable support to the team through professional phone and written communication.
About The Role
How will you contribute:
1. Administrative and coordinator duties, whilst working with the Project Cargo Team and external customers including Shipping Lines.
2. Provide excellent communication to external customers, providing quotations and solutions to enquiries linked to Project Cargo. Keep up to date with current operations to ensure live and transparent updates can be communicated to customers.
3. Work well under direction and guidance from your superiors throughout the apprenticeship.
4. Keep an open mind and use your judgment to identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems and suggest improvements.
5. Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal Operational departments to assist in arranging and resolving customer enquiries with solutions and quotations.
6. Follow instruction, policies and procedures to enhance the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative and support services provided.
7. Build strong relationships and collaboration across the business unit, Project Cargo Team, and customer interactions.
8. Complete and pass a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship, including any exams and coursework being completed on time whilst working with us.
What will you Bring:
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, grade 5/C+ or equivalent.
2. Currently completing your A-Levels/BTEC course.
3. Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexible attitude, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
4. Comfortable with travelling to our other port/offices and events throughout the UK (this can include overnight stays).
5. Ability to take ownership of work as well as displaying a willing and 'hands-on' approach.
6. Trustworthy and able to treat business and personal information with respect and confidence.
7. Strong customer focus, with a desire to build relationships.
8. Effective and strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
9. Superior time management skills and ability to work to demanding deadlines.
10. Highly motivated and committed.
11. Sound IT skills, with good knowledge of all Microsoft applications (especially spreadsheets/PowerPoint experience).
