This role is ideal for aspiring Play Therapists, offering a rare opportunity to work with pupils with range of needs, including SEMH, offering them tailored 1:1 support. Aspiring Play Therapist – Education and Training - Aspiring Play Therapist in Barnet The Role: Supporting children with a range SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH Assisting with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Makaton, and alternative communication methods. Helping children express emotions and regulate their behaviour through play, art, music, and creative engagement. Observing a range of key interventions such as Speech and Language Therapy, Sensory Intervention, Play Therapy and Art Therapy Supporting structured and sensory-based interventions to help pupils develop social and emotional skills. Assisting with personal care routines, including feeding and hygiene, depending on individual pupil needs. Encouraging self-expression through creative activities and play, allowing students to engage in learning in ways that work best for them. Who We’re Looking For: Graduates in Art, Creative Therapies, Psychology, or those looking to retrain in therapy-based careers. A genuine interest Play Therapy, SEN education, Autism support, or Neurodiversity. A patient, compassionate, and adaptable individual who values communication beyond words. Someone with an understanding of non-verbal communication and an interest in visual, musical, or creative expression.
