The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a fantastic opportunity for aspiring, customer focused, electrical maintenance professionals to be based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. Working within a small multi-disciplinary team, the chosen applicant will help maintain the building services infrastructure at one of the Top 10 Hospital Trusts in the U.K.

• Participate in the emergency shift cover rota to provide for the maintenance out of hours shift rota on an ad hoc basis to ensure cover is provided in the event of unplanned circumstance.
• Responsible for the management and supervision of competent persons in the completion of technically specialist tasks.
Undertakes condition surveys, evaluates inspection reports.
Candidates must have completed a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship, be self-motivated with a desire to develop new skills and flexible to meet the demands of a large acute hospital.

Specialist training and support will be provided where necessary with the chosen candidaterequired to develop into a specialist engineering supervisor.
Responsible for the direct technical supervision of specialist craftsperson's in the planned maintenance of and emergency response to, complex engineering infrastructure to ensure the effective performance of all building services, plant, equipment, structures and fabric to ensure the trust Estate is maintained in a safe condition. This will include:
o Acting as Authorised Person (Limited Duties) as defined by Health
Technical Memorandum’s for the Low Voltage Distribution Systems across
the Estate.
o Responsible for the management and supervision of Competent Persons
in the completion of technically specialist tasks.
o Day to day management of software and hardware systems used by the
maintenance compliance function.
o Quality Inspection
o To manage minor works projects as directed.
o Participate in the emergency shift cover rota to provide for the
maintenance out of hours shift rota on an ad hoc basis to ensure cover is
provided in the event of unplanned circumstance

To provide Estates support to Capital Projects and other organisations when
required.
The raising and approval of orders within defined parameters in line with Trust
Standing Financial Instructions.
Monitoring of the performance of the maintenance teams, identifying performance
targets and providing regular reports on performance which identify areas for
improvement
Providing regular highlight reports for compliance areas as required.
Identify and deliver cost improvement opportunities and service efficiencies that
may improve the organisation’s operations.
Ensure that all risks and issues are identified, addressed and mitigated or notified
appropriately.
