Job Overview
Warehouse operative, required to perform various tasks that include lifting heavy items, specifically up to 25 kg (in compliance with manual handling). The position typically involves working 20 hours per week (4 Hours per Day - Mornings Preffered)
Responsibilities
Lifting and Handling: The primary responsibility of a warehouse operative in this context is to lift products weighing up to 25 kg. This task may require teamwork, as it is advisable to lift heavy items with assistance (a buddy system).
Picking and Packing items from inventory and packing them for shipment. This requires attention to detail and efficiency.
Receiving Shipments: They may also be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, which includes checking the contents against shipping documents.
Ad Hoc Duties: Additional responsibilities can include wrapping and labeling items, as well as any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
Physical Capability: Candidates must be physically capable of lifting heavy products (up to 25 kg) safely.
Safety Gear: PPE will be provided and as a minimum wearing safety boots is typically required due to the nature of the work environment.
Experience: While not always mandatory, having experience with forklifts can be beneficial for certain warehouse roles (If not trained - training will be offered).
The job role (subject to finding the right person) may be extended to a full time role, to assist our trained engineers when stripping/assembling machines in our adjacent workshops - to be dicussed at interview stage.
