The Engineering Systems Testing Engineer job itself is a new role in the engineering department which has two major components:
1. A Test Engineer in the field of engineering is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting tests on various products, systems, or components to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. This includes acceptance testing such as engine cooling, hydraulic testing, noise & performance testing. Overall, an Engineering Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products through rigorous testing and analysis. The testing will also verify the expected outcomes from the simulation environment, strengthening the link between the simulation and the real environment. The role will contribute to the development process by identifying and addressing issues early on, thus minimizing the risk of defects or failures in the final product.
2. The second component is machine software function testing: Software testing on a vehicle, specifically function testing, involves verifying the proper functioning of software systems embedded in various vehicle components. The role will be a supporting one working with the software engineers to develop test scripts.
More specifically: test planning, test case design, test cases, test execution, test automation, data analysis & reporting, performance & reliability testing, continuous improvement, QA, health & safety.

To be successful as an Engineering Systems Testing Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
1. High level of test equipment competence, accuracy, objectivity, data logging, calibration, etc.
2. Interest in and knowledge of control systems.
3. Understanding of automotive electronics and CAN-based control systems and software.
4. High level of Microsoft Office applications and computer literacy.
5. Knowledge of automation and scripting.
6. Drive, energy, determination, and commitment to coordinate multi-task projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
