Assistant Accountant

I am currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to support the finance department in a growing family-owned company, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.
This role is perfect for someone who is meticulous, enjoys working with numbers, and is looking to grow their accounting expertise within a supportive environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing sales and purchase invoicing to ensure financial accuracy.
* Maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger.
* Performing bank reconciliations to keep financial records in check.
* Overseeing credit control processes to ensure timely payments.
* Executing bank payments with precision and accuracy.
* Assisting in the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
* Conducting balance sheet checks to ensure financial integrity.
* Processing timesheets for accurate payroll management.
* Onboarding new customers and setting up their financial accounts.
* Completing monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet to maintain financial health.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
* A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
