As both a designer and manufacturer, Transvac maintains full control over the design, raw material procurement, manufacturing, scheduling, and testing processes. We are currently seeking an additional CAD Engineer to join our busy Head Office in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Responsibilities The CAD Engineer will report to the CAD Team Leader and work as part of the Mechanical Design Department. Role Responsibilities: 3D Modelling: Develop 3D models of Transvac Ejectors, Silencers, and associated equipment, including full-system package designs. This encompasses Ejectors, vessels, structural skid base frames, supports, pipework runs, and pneumatic/electrical hookups. Utilize information from various sources, such as client specifications, internal requirements, process design calculations, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, mechanical design calculations, and instrumentation/valve/equipment schedules. Design Documentation: Produce detailed design drawings for manufacturing, including system general arrangements, assembly drawings, component drawings, sub-assembly isometrics, pre-form forging details, and plate developments. Generate bills of materials for procurement, hydrostatic test materials, weld location diagrams, and material placement diagrams. Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and other departments. Technical Support: Assist the Mechanical Department team by reviewing CAD designs and contractor drawings. Support the Mechanical Design Assurance team in ensuring design integrity. Training will be provided on the following: Process and application background of Transvac technologies. Transvac SolidEdge CAD design processes, including setup, template locations, part libraries, 3D modelling, 2D drawing layouts, and material list generation. Geometric and dimensional tolerancing principles. Role Requirements: A degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng/MSc preferred; BEng/BSc considered with strong engineering knowledge). Strong working knowledge of Solid Edge Software Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and creativity in problem-solving. Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships. A resourceful and innovative mindset with a focus on meeting deadlines and targets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding of fundamental manufacturing processes.
