A&P NORTH EAST – Project Planner
We are dedicated to delivering excellence in our projects from inception to completion, so we’re looking for a Project Planner to provide what we need to make that happen.
This is a critical role as part of our wider team managing complex, multifaceted projects where schedule recovery is critical. Could it be you?
So as a Project Planner at A&P Group, what will you do?
* You’ll be generating, maintaining, and updating the plans for complex, multi-faceted projects, especially where timelines are dictated by factors like customer demands and weather constraints.
* Scheduling and adapting when issues are identified for recovery while mitigating risk with built-in contingencies for delays using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
* Coordinating live progress updates between customers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders, through exceptional communication to manage expectations and changes.
* Accurately estimating timeframes, resource needs, and project constraints and re-estimating when faced with unexpected disruptions.
* Adapting the plan quickly as new challenges arise, whether they come from client demands or weather-related disruptions.
* In a market with a skills shortage, with a realistic understanding of the availability of labour and materials, you’ll allocate resources accordingly.
* Produce reports on milestone slippage, critical path analysis, resource demand & availability, float erosion, identification of schedule risks, issues, and opportunities.
* Present schedule variance analysis to identify and report deviations, triggering exception reports as appropriate.
* Identify and use Earned Value Management techniques.
And what are we looking for?
* A project planner who can deal with complexity, adjust for unexpected variables, and effectively manage resources in a tight labour market.
* Someone who wants additional skills or experiences that can help make the planner more effective and adaptable.
* An understanding of and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project Management planning.
* The ability to read and interpret specifications and estimator’s breakdowns.
* Experience creating labour forecasts and carrying out critical path analysis.
* Awareness of operating within an Earned Value Management (EVM) environment.
* Ability to deliver accurate work using initiative to prioritise project deadlines.
