What you’ll be doing
General Summary / Objectives:
This role would deliver a blend of day-to-day compensation specialist support, along with a project based transformational focus across the EMEA region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Regional Total Reward Lead with the management and strategic direction of the Compensation function on a pan-European basis e.g. to assess feasibility of providing an expansion of Compensation services across both existing customers and across European countries.
2. Own and develop working relationships between HEU, CSS Compensation Administration, and Group Entity customers to ensure effective delivery of the annual compensation cycle (Merit / STI / LTI) and survey submissions across EMEA (Mercer and Willis Towers Watson).
3. Change management / project focus on Compensation delivery and transformation of market role pricing and survey benchmarking, working with CSS Compensation Administration and the business as needed.
4. Drive compensation based cultural change across HEU, working with key stakeholders as needed, to support transition to compensation ranges to underpin regional compensation philosophy, including ownership and delivery of compensation ranges, and compensation benchmarking requests.
5. Partner with the Regional Total Reward Lead, to project manage compensation compliance and regulatory requirements e.g. The EU Pay Transparency Directive, including data analysis, data insights, and owning actions to support and deliver compliance.
6. Develop positive working relationships and be seen as a trusted business partner to support compensation-based discussions with HR Business Partners, line managers, and customers as needed.
7. Develop strong network with other Compensation specialists across the Group to promote digitalization opportunities and lead the focus on translating business requirements into actionable deliverables through Workday solutions.
8. Overseeing the management of relationships with our Compensation partners, including third party supplier management.
9. Perform role of Secretary to the HEU Remuneration Committee, taking ownership for running the meeting schedules, preparation of meeting materials and liaison with stakeholders, production and circulation of meeting minutes, and delivery of follow up actions needed.
10. Support Budgeting / Compensation accrual requests from Finance.
11. Act as escalation point and subject matter expert for all compensation-based queries.

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role will be a mixture of mostly remote-hybrid work coming as needed to Hitachi Office.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:
1. At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in Regional / Global compensation.
2. Solid understanding of all facets of compensation design and delivery.
3. Familiar with the most common compensation tools and programs, such as cyclical merit program management, off-cycle reviews, STIs, LTIs, etc.
4. Compensation design and delivery experience in a global context desirable.
5. Awareness of Regional / Global trends and best practices.
6. Comfortable with transformation activities in a very complex, global setting.
7. Strong initiative drive, in uncertain environments and contexts.
8. Execution and problem solving driven.
9. Well developed communication skills across all organizational layers, in particular with senior stakeholders.
10. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism across a range of sensitive topics.
11. This role reports into Regional Total Rewards CoE Lead.
Education and other requirements:
1. Undergraduate degree (4-year degree).
2. Compensation certification(s) desirable.
Physical Demands:
Typical office work demands, such as sitting for long periods of time, and the extensive use of computers and related screen based applications.
Travel Demands:
1. Limited to some light domestic and international travel.
2. Participation in international seminars and/or conferences might be required.
