Engineer – Electric Powertrain Integration and Launch
Forseven, a revolutionary company, is looking to transform the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices. We are seeking an Engineer – Electric Powertrain Integration and Launch to join our highly skilled and dynamic Vehicle Electrification Team. This role will report into the Engineering Manager – Powertrain System Validation.
The role will operate in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, where the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field. This is an exciting role in the team where specialism in electrification will provide a real focus on the electric powertrain and associated systems during all stages of development.
As our vehicles progress towards production, it is imperative that system integration is verified at component level before launch and development support is provided for the HV System within these vehicles. This role will allow the right candidate to support the integration of powertrain components in the first instance, working alongside suppliers to ensure that solutions meet our requirements and do not encounter delays that may risk the vehicle programme.
Then, as the vehicle build matures through prototype and into pre-production phases, on-site launch support will ensure that knowledge gained during the integration phases is used to maximize the success of the vehicle launch.
What you will do:
1. Provide integration support for electric powertrain vehicle development for both internal and external teams.
2. Support validation activities and test trips across Forseven engineering throughout the UK and worldwide, including aspects of hands-on vehicle validation where necessary.
3. Take ownership and drive resolution of complex issues, including both software and hardware.
4. Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers as necessary, utilizing formal problem-solving methodology to ensure robust issue resolution.
5. Support prototype and production builds for Forseven vehicles in diverse locations.
6. Support and define vehicle instrumentation for the Electric Powertrain and wider team.
Who you are:
1. Experience around the integration and troubleshooting of high voltage and powertrain components during build, development, and production phases of an automotive project, including both software and physical considerations.
2. Demonstrable hands-on experience of automotive components, systems, and vehicles including the high voltage system.
3. Experience of vehicle testing, analysis, and diagnostics using measurement and calibration tools such as Vector CANalyzer and ETAS INCA.
4. Demonstrable understanding of high voltage architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, high voltage safety, and control strategies.
5. Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree. Relevant significant experience will be considered.
6. High Voltage training to Senior Authorised Person or IMI Level 4 preferred.
