Project Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + travel allowance & bonus

About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will take the lead in managing high-value engineering projects from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include:
* Project Management: Managing all phases of project development, from design and planning to procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation, ensuring compliance with cGMP and industry standards.
* Contractor Supervision: Coordinating and optimising contractor performance, ensuring work is delivered on time, safely, and to the highest quality.
* Regulatory & Industry Awareness: Staying up to date with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, and technological advancements, while contributing to long-term strategic initiatives.
* Strategic Planning: Preparing detailed equipment specifications and capital proposals to drive facility improvements and upgrades.
* H&S and Risk Management: Implementing and recommending safe working practices, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to health and safety policies.

About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
* A degree in an Engineering discipline or relevant work experience.
* Strong project management experience, ideally gained in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or biotech sectors.
* Knowledge and experience in laboratory settings (or clean room experience).
* Familiarity with UK Building Regulations and technical drawing design/modification.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, including the ability to manage contractors.
* Strong communication skills to confidently liaise at all levels.
* Certifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, or PRINCE2 (desirable but not essential).
