There are 29 modern, state-of-the-art theatres across 2 floors and 2 additional theatres that are located within the Maternity unit which undertake elective, emergency and trauma work for Adults, Paediatrics & Obstetric patient groups. You are expected to upskill and rotate between 2 areas. In addition to this, Anaesthetic, Recovery & Scrub staff provide support to Maternity Theatres, Interventional Radiology, MRI & Gastro remote services. The service provides 24/7 cover and can offer a variety of shift patterns. In more recent times, Theatre staff have rotated into Critical Care and there are also opportunities to develop skills in this area as part of ongoing development programme to build a more flexible workforce. Main duties of the job We aim to develop you once established within their primary clinical area, by facilitating rotational positions into at least 2 areas of Operating Department Practice (Recovery, Scrub and Anaesthetics).Opportunities may also be available to rotate into Critical Care for those who want to expand their skillset further. We are always keen to recognise talent and offer the opportunity to advance in different specialties by encouraging rotation and the acquisition of new skills. We encourage our staff to undertake Leadership and Management courses and empower them to develop leadership skills as well as essential clinical-decision making skills to progress within the perioperative environment.
