We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Forensic Practitioner post within the Adult Forensic Community Team on the Mental Health and Personality Disorder Pathway. The team is based at the Humber Centre for Forensic Psychiatry.
The Forensic Practitioner will support the delivery of specialist assessment, inreach, and therapeutic intervention. These services are designed to support individuals who are transitioning from secure settings back into the community. The teams also provide a consultation and assessment service to support community mental health teams.
The post will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based care. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and deliver therapeutic intervention in the context of a trauma-informed model of care. The successful applicant will need to have the means to travel between various geographical distances.
Main duties of the job
The Forensic Practitioner will support the delivery of specialist assessment and therapeutic intervention with the community forensic teams.
Key Responsibilities include:
Clinical Responsibilities
1. Utilise specialist forensic skills in consultation, assessment, and intervention.
2. Deliver clinical care and promote evidence-based practice.
3. Assist in assessment, formulation, and care planning.
4. Use critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.

1. Support therapeutic interventions within a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Provide clinical support and advice to colleagues.
3. Work autonomously and collaboratively within the team.

4. Support managers with service development projects.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Professional qualification relevant to practice area, with study to degree level, with evidence of additional post-graduate study.
* Experience of successful policy implementation and change.
* Understanding of relevant policy, legislation, drivers, and their application to clinical practice.
* Member of organisational group/network, locally or nationally.
* Relevant forensic experience in a range of settings.
Experience
* Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Be a member of a recognised professional body and hold a current professional registration.
* Educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experiential learning/experience.
* Training or qualification in the delivery of therapeutic intervention.
Skills
* Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills.
* Ability to manage exposure to emotional/distressing circumstances.
* Ability to demonstrate ethical values and attitudes within a culture of equality and diversity.
* To be able to attend and complete regular mandatory training.

Where operationally feasible the Trust supports agile working; there is an expectation of attendance of 1 day per week at a Trust site as a minimum operationally.
