Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join our primary school team. Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Learning:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports the needs of all pupils.
* Use a variety of teaching methods to encourage curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning.
* Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, providing targeted support and intervention where necessary.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging high standards of behaviour and engagement.
1. Professional Development & Support:
* Participate in the school's ECT induction programme, including mentoring and training sessions.
* Work closely with an assigned mentor to reflect on practice and implement feedback for improvement.
* Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.
* Contribute to the wider school community, including attending staff meetings and training sessions.
2. Classroom & Behaviour Management:
* Establish clear rules and expectations for behaviour, promoting a respectful and safe learning environment.
* Implement the school's behaviour policy, using positive reinforcement and restorative approaches.
* Develop strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress.
3. Safeguarding & Welfare:
* Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils.
* Be proactive in identifying and addressing any concerns regarding pupil welfare.
* Work collaboratively with staff and external agencies to support children with additional needs.
Person Specification:
1. Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) obtained through a recognised Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme.
* Passion for teaching and a commitment to high-quality education.
* Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
