The former country estate, The Langley is a luxury hotel and spa in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside. The hotel has 41 exquisite rooms and suites with the height of sophistication and refinement.
The Langley Hotel opened its doors on 1st June 2019, following an extensive six-year renovation. Working alongside the award-winning Dennis Irvine Studio, the multi-million-pound renovation has transformed the historic Grade II-listed Langley Park House from a dilapidated former private home into a majestic countryside icon, and a hotel that encompasses the modern sensibilities and aspirations of the modern traveller.
Job Role
TheReception Supervisorwill report directly to the Front Office Manager, collaborating with duty managers, department managers, supervisors, and line staff to ensure that our guests are satisfied with their stay and that the services they receive meet or exceed their expectations.
You will showcase excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Taking responsibility for service standards of the front of house team as well as having a consistent, passionate approach to exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a hospitality environment.
General duties will include:
* Overseeing the day-to-day activities at the front desk, including reception, concierge, and guest services ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries are handled efficiently
* Managing room reservations to ensure accuracy of bookings
* Enforcing hotel policies and procedures
* Proactive lobby management maintaining high visibility particularly during peak times
* Liaise with other hotel departments to fulfil special guest requests and seamlessly coordinate services
* Providing ongoing training and support to front of house staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, to achieve their best performance
* Promoting hotel amenities, services, and special offers to guests
* Overseeing the use of technology/IT systems
* Collaborate with Marriott Loyalty Performance Coordinators to achieve and surpass Marriott Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) targets
* Conduct timely performance review, appraisals ad feedback for associates
* Proactive leadership and management of the front of house team ensuring guest service standards are met and exceeded
* Implement strategies to optimise efficiency and productivity in front of house operations
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Proactively follow up on guest enquiries, request and complaints in collaboration with duty managers
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven background within a luxury hospitality environment
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar management role within the hospitality industry (ESSENTIAL)
* Previous experience using standard IT/software applications including Opera, MARSHA, Fourth, telephone systems (ESSENTIAL)
* Previous experience in Marriot standards and procedures (ESSENTIAL)
* Excellent written and verbal English (ESSENTIAL)
* Operational knowledge of reservation procedures and related systems
* Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
* An eye for details and welcoming personality
* Demonstrated leadership ability
* Flexibility with rotating shift patterns, including weekends and Bank Holidays
