We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Engineer to oversee the design, implementation and procurement elements of our projects. This role will involve stepping out to manage road markings, signing and other key infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of design standards and have excellent communication skills to facilitate consultation meetings.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who can work independently, with occasional supervision from senior staff.
The successful candidate must be reasonably local to our operations to enable daily site visits, which may last from 1-3 weeks at a time.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement highway projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Supervise contractors and conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality.
* Facilitate consultation meetings with stakeholders, including community groups and local authorities.
* Maintain accurate records and reports of project activities and outcomes.
Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Proven experience in highway engineering, preferably with a focus on design and implementation.
* Strong understanding of design standards and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently, with occasional supervision.
* Reasonably local to our operations.
