Project Manager (Power) Central Belt Permanent £55,000 - £60,000 car/allowance, pension, healthcare and 25 days stats The Client Our client is one of the UKs leading companies in power distribution, electrical networks and facilities management. As a business, they offer building maintenance repair, HV/LV Connections, substation maintenance, electrical and civil engineering design, overhead lines work and much more. Due to increasing workload our client has created a new position for a Project Manager within their substation replacement division in their West Yorkshire offices. The Role The main purpose of this role is to manage a team to achieve delivery of switchgear and substation replacement projects on the framework contract to time, safety regulations, quality standards and project specification. The role reports to the Operations Manager / Senior Project Manager. Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage multiple/major projects from cradle to grave safely, competently and effectively to time and budget; Manage all financial aspects of projects, including the costing and invoicing of any additional works; Provide guidance to team members to ensure the safe, effective and efficient implementation of the companys operations; Monitor and report on progress of work to the customer as required; Provide guidance on and monitor your teams approach to safety rules and procedures, method statements and risk assessments; Liaise with third parties to ensure the smooth implementation of work; Maintain site safety at all times and complete risk assessments; Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHE team; Manage and review performance of staff reporting to you and identify training needs; Conduct site safety and 1 in 10 inspections and ensure remedial actions are undertaken; Ensure that all statutory records, certificates, licences, notifications and notices are in place; Prepare project Safety, CDM plans and Risk Assessments as part of the overall programme. Skills and Experience Required Substantial experience of project management; Knowledge of distribution substation equipment transformers / switchgear / Distribution boards; Experience of working on switchgear / substation / asset replacement works; Sound understanding of the financial aspects of projects; Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and its practical implications; CDM knowledge; NVQ / ONC / HNC or above in a relevant subject; IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS or other safety related qualification; NRSWA accredited; A formal project management qualification is preferred; SPEN authorisations would be beneficial. The role is offered on a permanent basis with the company, offering a good basic salary of £55-60,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus benefits package including a car allowance of £4,800 per annum.
