You have a opportunity to be part of this in the role of Assistant Engineer (Highways Developers Agreements). Due to the continued high level of investment within Doncaster an opportunity has arisen within the Major Projects and Investment Service for an Assistant Engineer to join the Design Team. The duties of the post will be predominately checking and approving technical submissions from developers for highway works. There will then be a requirement to inspect the works on site to ensure they comply with the agreed drawings and specification. These works are usually carried out under Section 38 or Section 278 Agreements of the 1980 Highways Act. The successful candidate will have experience in a highways / civil engineering related environment and will be expected to demonstrate technical knowledge in these related topics. The post will be located in the Civic Office with a requirement to undertake site work, it is expected that the split between office work and site work will generally be divided 50/50. There may also be a requirement to occasionally work outside normal working hours.
