The post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of their own and others' health and safety and infection control as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, the practice Health & Safety Manual, and the practice Infection Control Policy and published procedures. Working under the direct supervision of the Clinical Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

About us
Riverside Brigg is a purpose-built practice in the centre of Brigg with a branch surgery located in Broughton. Riverside has merged with Trent View Medical Practice covering a further three sites. Five GP partners care for nearly 24,500 patients; we are a Training Practice, host medical students and nurses, and also offer work placements. We are a dispensing practice with a pharmacy attached at both sites in Brigg and Broughton. The partners have specialist interests in Cardiology, Dermatology, Diabetes, Minor Surgery, Respiratory, and Substance Misuse. We employ three ANPs with interests in paediatrics and palliative care. The Urgent Care Team manages on-the-day demand offering emergency appointments and telephone advice. Practice nurses manage chronic disease within the surgery and are supported by eight HCAs. The two practice Pharmacists manage prescribing and medicines optimisation. The clinical team is supported by a multi-professional administration team.

11. To undertake patient Home Visits for CDM Reviews working within own competency and as delegated by qualified nurse within relevant field of care (e.g. Diabetes, CHD etc)
12. To support and assist qualified nurses within Diabetes/Respiratory Clinics
13. To process and manage laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
14. To sterilise, clean and maintain surgical equipment
15. To stock rotate surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking
16. To prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
17. To assist in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
18. To undertake specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
19. To help raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
20. To assist with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
21. To assist in clinics such as coil and Implanon insertion and removal
22. To assist in preparation for yearly calibration of practice equipment
23. To complete patient notes and tasks on the clinical system relative to job role

Qualifications
* GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths
* HCA Experience in General Practice
* Qualified in Phlebotomy

* Good IT Skills and IT Literacy
* Ability to Work in a Busy Environment
