Essex Highways (EH) is responsible for managing and maintaining one of the largest highway networks in the country. EH is a delivery partnership between Essex County Council (ECC) and Ringway Jacobs. In this role, you will work alongside our contractual partner to deliver highways services. You will assist with the investigation and monitoring of streetworks, supporting and coordinating a range of resources to maximize opportunities for network management and public safety.
The Role
1. Contribute to the delivery of the Network Management Duty
2. Assist in the operation of the Permit Scheme in accordance with Scheme Document and Section 3 of the Traffic Management Act
3. Help ensure the delivery of Essex Highways and Essex Permit Scheme objectives in line with service plans and standards
4. Maintain data accuracy across the business unit
5. Prepare data and participate in reviews/meetings of work promoter’s & internal performance
6. Review inspections for quality and compliance with legislation and best practices
7. Provide feedback to target training needs
8. Process applications for skips and scaffolding, ensuring all paperwork is in order within SLAs
9. Gather data, monitor progress, and achieve goals efficiently
10. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and council duties
11. Manage your workload and support team capacity
12. Use systems and data for reporting performance and management info
13. Understand all Streetworks processes and ensure correct implementation
14. Support continuous improvement in service delivery and technology use
15. Evaluate impacts on the network and suggest mitigations
16. Respond to enquiries and complaints from the public and stakeholders
17. Assist with projects and initiatives as directed
18. Provide advice and information to stakeholders
19. Attend and present at relevant meetings
20. Stay updated on legislation and best practices
21. Adhere to health and safety policies
22. Perform other duties as required
