We are working with a Shared Legal Service in the Cambridgeshire region looking for a permanent 2+ PQE Employment Solicitor to join their department.

The role offers a salary of £43,000 to £56,750 (DOE) and an excellent benefits package. This is a full-time position with the council operating on a flexible hybrid working environment.
About the position:
* Provide legal advice in relation to employment law matters on behalf of the Legal Service
* Manage and provide advice on your own caseload of varied complex matters with minimal supervision
* Act as a source of legal advice and support to any of the client Councils’ Committees and Directorates as directed
* Attend courts and tribunals undertaking advocacy where required and represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding employment law
* Work closely with Elected Members and Directorate and Corporate teams as required to provide strategic support
* Contribute to the development, training or mentoring of colleagues where required.
About you:
You must have a demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative, anticipate challenges, and deal with them proactively. You must be able to work unsupervised with a flexible approach to teamwork, driven by delivering a high-quality service, and have a positive attitude towards building relationships with the team. You must have the ability to evaluate information in complex situations and confidently make decisions independently.
You must also be flexible to travel to other office locations when necessary.
It is important that anyone joining the council is committed to these areas of law and can demonstrate the importance of health and safety as well as having the awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs.
The ability to work under pressure is imperative, be self-motivated, and able to work to deadlines. Previous employment local authority experience is essential. You will also need to be comfortable undertaking some advocacy.
