Our client designs, manufactures, and installs equipment used predominantly within the electrical power and distribution industry, developing noise solutions such as doors, screens, and enclosures. The company is based in the Colchester area and is keen to recruit a bright, driven individual, supporting them in gaining further qualifications to develop their career. The Project Engineer will assist Project Managers working on various projects. Due to the location, candidates do need to have their own transport.
Duties:
1. Support the Project Managers in the management of site works within the agreed contract period.
2. Ensure the company's Health and Safety and Environmental policies are adhered to.
3. Programme work to ensure labour, plant, materials, and sub-contractors are available when required.
4. Take off material quantities and expedite material deliveries as required.
5. Place all required purchase orders with suppliers.
6. Maintain the project files including weekly diary, method statements, delivery tickets, work sheets.
7. Continually seek to improve all aspects of quality and service.
8. Make the most efficient use of resources available for plant and materials.
9. Liaise with internal staff, subcontractors, and clients.
10. Achieve the highest possible degree of Client interface and satisfaction.
11. Occasionally will be required to travel to sites, clients, sub-contractors, or suppliers which may require staying away overnight.
Experience:
1. Qualified to HNC or degree level in an engineering subject.
2. Some experience of working in a project engineering environment.
3. SSSTS or SMSTS.
4. Able to utilise MS Office suite essential.
5. Own transport is essential.
