ITP are pleased to be partnering with a growing aerospace manufacturing business in Sheffield as they seek to appoint a NADCAP Quality Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented engineer to join a small, but rapidly expanding company, working in a highly specialised sector. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the business meets stringent aerospace quality standards and maintains NADCAP accreditation.
As part of a close-knit team, you will take ownership of the NADCAP accreditation process and ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards. You'll work directly with production teams to support quality improvement initiatives, manage audits, and ensure that processes and products meet the high levels of precision and safety required in aerospace manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and manage NADCAP accreditation for the business, ensuring compliance with all relevant aerospace industry standards
* Lead and manage internal and external audits (NADCAP and other relevant aerospace standards), ensuring successful outcomes and minimal non-conformances
* Collaborate closely with production teams to identify and address quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed
* Ensure continuous improvement of quality systems, processes, and procedures in line with NADCAP requirements
* Provide technical support and guidance on quality issues across the business, including supplier management and product development
* Conduct detailed investigations into any quality failures, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
* Work with suppliers to ensure that all materials and processes meet the necessary aerospace standards and support the business in maintaining a robust supplier approval process
* Support the Quality Manager in reporting and tracking key quality metrics and performance indicators
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Quality Engineer with a specific focus on NADCAP accreditation in the aerospace manufacturing sector
* In-depth knowledge of NADCAP auditing processes and aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
* Experience leading and managing both internal and external audits, with a proven track record of achieving successful audit outcomes
* A solid understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and associated quality requirements
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
* Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment
