About the Role: As an SEN Learning Support, you will involve delivering targeted interventions, fostering positive behaviour and implementing strategies to encourage independent learning. SEN Learning Support Responsibilities: Offer hands-on support to students with SEN, helping them access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs. Collaborate with teachers to modify learning activities, ensuring they are engaging and accessible. Provide emotional and social guidance to help students develop resilience and confidence. Implement structured learning programmes and behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies. Assist with sensory regulation techniques for students with specific processing needs. Support students in developing essential life skills alongside their academic learning. Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support. Maintain records of student progress and contribute to individual learning plans (ILPs). SEN Learning Support Job Requirements: A recognised qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent). Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in an educational or care setting. A solid understanding of conditions such as autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with students, staff and parents. A positive and adaptable approach to working with diverse learning needs. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures in education. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
