Position: Full-Time Payroll Specialist
The primary responsibility of the Payroll Specialist is to successfully prepare and process a bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250+ employees and contractors. This position works within the Accounting Team and handles all employee compensation within the company as well as provides support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and process twice-monthly payroll, preparing accurate information for approval by deadline.
2. Process and review timecards within designated HR/payroll software (Quickbooks) and provide follow-up with managers and team leads as needed.
3. Track, record, and process wage garnishments as they are received.
4. Assist HR in entering new hire information and manage terminations within payroll software for all staff.
5. Provide excellent service when communicating with all other team members regarding questions pertaining to payroll.
6. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information.
7. Work with accounting to reconcile payroll transactions.
8. Maintain personal time off (PTO) records and ensure PTO is paid out as needed upon terminations.
9. Handle all incoming calls/inquiries related to payroll.
10. Research, resolve and communicate resolution to all interested parties with payroll issues or concerns related to taxation, W-2s, earnings, deductions, reimbursements, and bonuses.
11. Ensure payroll practices meet government compliance.
12. Provide support to accounting with data entry in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
13. Perform all other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
* College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
* 2-3 years of payroll experience required; experience with Quickbooks preferred.
* Working knowledge of Google Workspace products (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets).

Compensation: California, New York, Washington, and Colorado: starting base pay for this position ranges between $18 – $27 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. Outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the above ranges.
