Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our unique, friendly nurse-led Phototherapy team.
If you have excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and also as part of the wider Dermatology team, we would love to hear from you.
A willingness to undertake relevant dermatology/phototherapy training and development of skills is required for the post. Effective communication and an ability to motivate and influence others is essential.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience within Dermatology/Phototherapy is desirable; however, training will be given. The successful applicant will also be expected to have already completed a Phototherapy training course.
You will support the administration of PUVA and UVB therapies safely in line with protocol-driven treatment plans, national and local guidelines, and evidence-based practice, provide pre and post-treatment education, and recognise the responsibilities involved in the Phototherapy treatment process, as well as offering support to our Phototherapy nursing team across Salford, Bury, and Stockport.
You will provide expert advice to medical and nursing Dermatology staff to ensure best practice standards are met that will clinically improve outcomes for patients, be involved in departmental governance and service development, make clinical decisions and initiate investigations, care/treatment, and technological intervention within an agreed framework.
About us
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services to over one million people living across Greater Manchester. Our 20,000 colleagues care for people in hospital and in the community, working across Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, and Salford, to save and improve lives.
As a large NHS trust, we are committed to enhancing the health of our local population by delivering consistently high standards of care and working closely with local authorities and key partners. We believe in our power and potential to make a difference and we're always looking for people who demonstrate our three core values - care, appreciate, and inspire - to join our team.
In return, we can offer you a job role with purpose and flexibility. The size and scale of the NCA means we can provide more challenge and opportunities so your career can always be moving in the right direction. By joining us, you can also access a competitive benefits package, including a fantastic annual leave allowance, flexible working opportunities, and protected hours for health and wellbeing activities, helping you to achieve more personal downtime and a better work-life balance.
Job responsibilities
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled in a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 2-3 months.
Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
To read more information about the advertised role, and the main job duties/responsibilities please open the Job Description and Person Specification located under the supporting documents heading.
We recognise that many people find interviews daunting and the conventional interview approach, of unseen questions, often impacts performance on the day. We are therefore piloting sending interview questions to candidates in advance.
This vacancy is within one of our pilot areas; therefore, if you are invited for an interview, you will receive your interview questions in advance of your interview date. Feedback on this process will also be requested to help our teams understand and evaluate your recruitment experience.
