Hampshire Hospitals are looking for a dietetic assistant is to work alongside our paediatric dietitians to provide a high quality, compassionate health care to the patients under the care of the diabetes service at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
• Arrange and organise annual review appointments with patients under the diabetes paediatric service
• Undertake dietary analysis of food diaries using the department dietary software package
• To be actively involved in training of students and practitioners from all health and social care professions as appropriate
• To assist the dietitians in preparing outpatient clinics
• Providing cover for the other paediatric dietetic assistant as and when required
• To work within the British Dietetic Associations’ Dietetic Support Worker and Assistant Practitioner Competency Framework
• Take an active role within diabetes education sessions
Record dietetic contacts to help provide workload statistics for the team

• Arrange and organise annual review appointments with patients under the diabetes paediatric service
• Take an active role within diabetes education sessions
• Involved in dietetic team admin eg recording dietetic contacts, sending dietary information, organising nutritional products, liaising with nutritional product companies, referral process, support with home enteral feed products, phone answering, message recording
• Support Dietitians with newly diagnosed diabetes patients on the ward
• Support Dietitians with review of ward pateints
• Undertake dietary analysis of food diaries using the department dietary software package
• Attend meetings and take minutes
• Preparing clinics – sending out letters for coeliac clinic
• Involvement in student support
• To work within the British dietetic Associations Dietetic Worker and Assistant Practitioner Competency framework
