Job Purpose: Setting of machinery and production of wire
Working Hours Monday to Friday: 7.45am - 4.30pm, Friday: 7.45am - 4.00pm
Pay: GBP13.44ph - GBP30,469pa
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

2. Wire crimping
3. Wire rolling
4. Annealing
5. Packing

Wire Drawing Responsibilities:
The wire-drawing operator sets up and operates one or more wire-drawing machines to draw round or rod through one or a series of dies to reduce its cross-sectional dimension, applying knowledge of the wire drawing machine, the working properties of metal, and wire drawing.
The operator studies specifications and determines setup procedures. They position and secure specified dies in die holders.
The operator takes redraw wire from the feed reel, tapers the end, and threads it through dies before securing the end of the wire onto the drawing block or onto a spool which rotates and pulls the wire through dies.
The operator will weld ends of separate coils together as required to increase their length, using welding equipment.
The operator inspects and measures drawn wire to verify conformance to specified shape, size, or electrical resistance, using measuring instruments, for example, wire gauges, micrometers, and resistance testers.
The operator documents measured parameters on works order cards.
