We have a stable, permanent team manager and service manager group. As a Senior Practitioner you will be supported in your practice by your manager and receive regular reflective supervision.
We have a good range of support services including a Family Group Conference Service, family support workers within teams and an extensive Early Help Offer to support the children and families.
We offer:
1. an initial 3-month minimum contract to create stability for our children and young people with the likelihood of an extension
2. £30 to £34 per hour based on experience
3. A 37 hour week. Hybrid working model, 3 days in Hub

1. To regularly review and reflect on professional practice along with colleagues and your line manager to identify areas of further professional learning and development.

We are looking for:
An experienced practitioner with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience as a social worker. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex, high-need cases within a child protection setting, requiring you to take initiative in supporting children and families. You will also mentor and provide guidance to team members, including offering advice, support, and occasional shadowing during visits or meetings. The role is likely to involve court-related work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead and enhance the quality of social work practice across case management.
2. Manage a complex caseload and provide expert guidance to colleagues.
3. Conduct in-depth assessments and deliver needs-led interventions.
4. Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and best practices.
5. Act as a mentor, offering coaching and quality assurance to team members.
6. Collaborate with multi-agency partners to provide effective support to service users.
7. Maintain high standards of case recording and performance reporting.
8. Participate in training, development activities, and team meetings.
Essential Criteria:
1. Approved social work qualification and HCPC registration.
2. Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families.
3. Strong understanding of social work legislation and safeguarding procedures.
4. Ability to manage complex cases and make informed intervention decisions.
5. Effective communication, report-writing, and advocacy skills.
6. Resilient under pressure with a commitment to equality and anti-discriminatory practice.
